What Size Storage Unit Do I Need?
It can be difficult to calculate exactly how much storage space you need, especially if this is your first time renting a storage space. To avoid renting too large or too small of a unit, we've created a description of what each unit size can hold.
Storage Unit Size Guide: A Brief Overview
Every one of our storage facilities offers a variety of storage types in a number of different sizes. Use the following information as a rough estimation of exactly how much can fit in each unit:
5' x 5' (25 sq. ft.): (Small closet/Half bathroom) Chest of drawers or desk mattress set, several boxes and small items OR about 50 file boxes.
5x10 Unit (50 sq. ft.): (Pickup Truck/Cargo Van/Walk-in closet) Mattress set, sofa, dining room set or chest of drawers, boxes and small items.
5x15 Unit (75 sq. ft.): (Large walk-in closet/Small bedroom) Standard furnishings of one bedroom apartment without appliances, or about 150 file boxes.
10x10 Unit (100 sq. ft.): (Average Size Bedroom) Furnishings of one bedroom apartment with refrigerator and washer/dryer, patio furniture and many boxes OR two office suites OR about 200 file boxes.
10x15 Unit (150 sq. ft.): (Large Bedroom) Furnishings of two bedroom apartment or small house with appliances, patio furniture and many boxes OR a vehicle or small boat OR it is big enough to fit carpet rolls and building materials.
10x20 Unit (200 sq. ft.): (Small One Car Garage) Furnishings of two bedroom house with appliances, patio furniture and many boxes OR a vehicle or small boat OR construction equipment.
10x25 Unit (250 sq. ft.): (Large One Car Garage) Furnishings of three bedroom house with appliances, patio furniture and many boxes, garage extras and miscellaneous OR a vehicle or boat.
10x30 Unit (300 sq. ft.): (Extra Long One Car Garage) Furnishings of four or five bedroom house with appliances, patio furniture and many boxes, garage extras and miscellaneous OR a vehicle or boat.
